Taste of Ladera Postponed

Written by Katie Wagner on March 11th, 2011. Posted in Taste of Ladera

Taste of Ladera 2011 has been postponed. Please read this letter from Event Complete CEO, Michelle Patterson.

Dear Ladera Ranch Community,

It is very difficult to announce, but the 2011 Taste of Ladera event planned for April 30 and May 1 has been postponed. This is a major disappointment for me, the committee and to all those that enjoy and benefit from the two day event.

As you may know, the Board of LARMAC, the master homeowners association in Ladera Ranch and the LARCS Board, the community services organization for Ladera Ranch, both refused the request of Taste of Ladera to use Founders Park in 2011. In an effort to secure an alternative location after these rejections, the Sheriff department, Fire department, and the County granted Taste of Ladera an encroachment permit No. 2011-00040 for closing Windmill North of Corporate Drive. We sought additional space adjacent to the street closure and were declined. We continue to have road blocks brought up from the Property Managers, LARCS, and LARMAC despite our concerted efforts.  We have worked too hard for the last eight years on having an issue free event to go into this event with anything but the perfect set-up and layout.  Although not necessary to conduct the event, we needed the additional space to make it the exceptional event that people have come to expect.
I can’t begin to express my appreciation for all the time, support, and work our volunteers and charities have devoted to making this event spectacular, which was a big part of our decision.   We will keep you up to date on any developments surrounding Taste of Ladera. We need your support to locate and secure a successful event for next year’s Taste of Ladera 2012.

Sincerely,
Michelle

Save The Taste of Ladera Event 2011: We Need Your Help!

Written by Marcia Riner on December 6th, 2010. Posted in Taste of Ladera

The Taste of Ladera Event, a community hallmark for the past seven years, needs your help! LARMAC and LARCS – the two organizations charged with approving community events – have failed to approve the 2011 Taste of Ladera Event.

As a result we are requesting you to make every effort to attend and encourage others to attend the upcoming homeowner’s meeting on Wednesday, December 8th at 6PM at the Avendale Clubhouse in Ladera Ranch to voice your support for Taste.  We want LARMAC to change their position and approve Taste of Ladera for 2011.

The Taste of Ladera Event is Ladera Ranch’s largest fundraiser that supports youth programs, local schools, and over 20 nonprofits made possible by generous donors, volunteers, and business relationships. Through the years it has evolved into South Orange County’s biggest charitable event with well over 20,000 attendees per year while raising more than $300,000 dollars.

To learn why LARMAC and LARCS are killing off The Taste of Ladera Event follow the links to the interview with Carol McCormick, the LARCS’ President, as well as the recently published Ladera Times Story and the attached article, ‘Taste of Ladera – What’s At Stake’.

Please read the article and vote here: www.laderatimes.com

BTW, Town Green is not an option because we outgrew it our first year.
Also, please come to the LARMAC Board Meeting to support Taste of Ladera.
